Overview

Lego Boost is a kit developed by Lego Education that allows children to learn about engineering, technology, programming and robotics in an interactive and fun way. It includes 840 parts, with assembling instructions directly accessible on the application for 5 models (Vernie the robot, Frankie the cat, the MTR4 and the Guitar).

The kit also includes “Boost Bricks”, an interactive engine, a color and distance sensor to build the 5 models, and a “Boost Hub” to connect the robot to the device (tablet or smartphone). The free application that goes with Lego Boost provides many challenges to progress in programming.

After assembling their robots, children can learn how to program them using the visual block system. Just like simplified symbols and colors commands, this system allows the robot to execute actions. Lego Boost is the perfect intermediary between Wedo 2.0 and Mindstrom for children from 7 to 12 years old.

We like the application because it helps children build robots step by step, despite the many parts that can actually discourage them. The fact that the application is constantly updated also allows them discover new challenges. Check out LEGO.com/deviceCheck for all compatible versions.
